The Chris & Pop-Pop Show: Guest Eric “Turtle” Golden, Laviolette Fired

This week on The Chris & Pop-Pop Show, Chris has an in-depth discussion about Monday morning’s firing of Flyers’ head coach Peter Laviolette; he’s not too happy about the whole situation.

Surprise guest Eric ‘Turtle’ Golden called in to discuss the recent Flyers news. Turtle is the producer of the Mike & Ike Show on SportsRadio 94WIP. Turtle and Chris get heated when discussing the direction of the franchise under GM Paul Holmgren.

Chris and Pop-Pop heavily discuss the firing of Laviolette and the hiring of new Flyers head honcho Craig Berube. Was Ed Snider wrong when he announced his organization doesn’t need a “fresh perspective”? Where does the team go moving forward after starting the season 0-3?

Next up, Chris and Pop-Pop talk about the Philadelphia Eagles’ decisive 36-21 victory over the despised New York Giants. Did the Eagles show us anything? Or did they just beat a bad football team?

The Eagles are in sole possession of first place in the NFC East. What does that tell you? They visit the terrible Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. That should be easy, too, right?

Finally, Pop-Pop discusses the current government shutdown and repercussions of Obamacare; it gets pretty passionate from a worried American veteran.
