This week on The Chris and Pop-Pop Show:
Flyers: The Philadelphia Flyers are fresh off the 2014 NHL Draft and they almost pulled off a blockbuster. Chris discusses how close the Flyers came from acquiring the first overall pick from the Florida Panthers, and who was involved. The Flyers drafted another defenseman, Travis Sanheim of the Calgary Hitmen. With free agency frenzy happening, GM Ron Hextall is strapped for cash and won’t be able to make any significant moves. What can the Flyers do to better their roster, and is Hextall already showing he’s not the only one in charge?
Phillies: Both Ruben Amaro Jr. and David Montgomery spoke out regarding all topics covering their franchise. Are they preparing for full sell mode? And why Montgomery believes that attendance, right now, is much more important than worrying if they’re going to retool or rebuild their roster; that’s a major problem in the eyes of Chris and Pop-Pop. What kind of hope, if any, can fans have for a change of the roster?
Eagles: Offensive tackle Lane Johnson tested positive for PED’s and will be suspended for the first four games of the NFL regular season. How will this affect Nick Foles and the rest of the Eagles offense? How will Chip Kelly react to the suspension.
In the final of the show, Chris gives a heart-felt plea to the Philadelphia fan base that he himself has always been a part of. It’s worth a listen.
